Bran Castle in Romania
Romania is a great tourist destination, keeping places and monuments that are still undiscovered. Among them we cite the Bran Castle, a magnificent medieval fortress of Hungarian origin, which enjoys particular fame because of its connection to the mythical character Dracula, the famous literary work by Bram Stoker.

This impressive castle is located near the city of Brasov, in Transylvania. Its architectural value is unmatched due to the antiquity of this building. Its origins date back to 1212, when a group of knights of the Teutonic Order, who returned from his crusade defeated Holy Land, built a fortress. In 1377, the current structure stood, under the orders of King Louis I of Hungary.
This fort is famous, too, because it is said that there lived the famous character Vlad Dracula, known as the Impaler, in the fifteenth century. Apparently, the count would have been there a few days as a prisoner in a dungeon, when the region was occupied by the Ottoman Empire. This, though not documented and may never have happened, gives the castle a new myth about its existence.
The castle passed to Romania when, completed the First World War, was signed the Treaty of Trianon, Transylvania passed by which the Kingdom of Romania. Shortly after, was seized by the Communist government of Romania in 1948. Today it is open to tourists who can travel alone or accompanied by a guide.
